Sunday 9th of October 2016

It’s getting a bit wintersome now, with the sun hanging lower in the sky and vanishing over the horizon earlier and earlier. It’s still fairly warm, but soon it won’t be pleasant going out without a coat.

It’s a nice time of year, and perhaps a bit melancholic – I mourn, in a minor way, the cheer and brightness of summer, and once again feel a little shame in knowing I didn’t really make the most of it while it was around. Yes, there’s always next year, but what kind of attitude is that?

I spent about an hour slowly wandering around a fairly small area, and it was rather relaxing, although I’m starting to get impatient with my camera. Now that I’ve resolved to get the Fuji X-T2, I’m being more critical of my X-E1, especially the way the small dim viewfinder makes it difficult to use in bright sun like today. The silver body, although quite fetching, further adds to the difficulty since I can see it in my peripheral vision, glaring away.

I took my 14, 35 and 60mm lenses and used them all. Can’t wait to get the 23.
