Some X-T2 + XF23/2 black and whites
Saturday 1st of April 2017
Another trip to Norwich today to get some Euros for our Malta trip on Monday. I hadn’t planned on making these pictures monochrome, but rendering one of them later as black and white made me think to give all the ‘good’ ones the same treatment. cycle path over foot bridge construction work on a building on King Street bush growing up a brick wall graffiti on a brick wall old man looking at market …

Carlton Marshes, somewhat desiccated
Sunday 26th of March 2017
I last went to Carlton Marshes just under two months ago , and it was rather wet and muddy then, despite the sun. Now, in late March after a week or so of sun and no rain, it’s much drier. Still cold, but not unpleasantly so – in fact, by the end of the walk I was wishing I hadn’t brought my coat. X-T2, 14/2.8, 23/2 and 60/2.4 rusty chain around gatepost gravel road towards river crossing marsh g…

More 23/2, this time in Norwich
Saturday 25th of March 2017
The shiny weather continues unabated, and even felt quite warm by around 11. Since Zoe and I were going to Norwich anyway I obviously took the new lens. One thing I’ve noticed looking over these pictures is that I get the impression I’m using the 23 like a 35, and not taking advantage of the wider field of view. Too many flat compositions! Fuji 23mm f/2 first impressions & rambling
Friday 24th of March 2017
When I got my first Fuji interchangeable lens camera, the X-E1, almost four years ago, I got it with the Fuji 35m f/1.4 lens, which I didn’t initially get along with. Prior to that I’d been using a Fuji X100 for almost two years, and it was quite uncomfortable at first going from a 23mm lens to a 35mm. The latter felt constricting, and I never seemed to have enough vertical space, meaning I felt p…

A walk to Lowestoft
Saturday 30th of July 2016
Continuing the walking theme from last time , Zoe and I walked all the way to Lowestoft town centre and back today, a distance of just under 12 km, and taking us 2 hours 45 minutes. We’re both fans of Pokémon Go, primarily since it provides some pretty good motivation to go out and walk a lot, so naturally we had it active on our phones on the way into town. Alas, location data, full screen brigh…

OCOLOY Week 20
Wednesday 3rd of June 2015
This week is a bit of an odd one out, for two reasons. First of all, some of these pictures are shot with my X100, which right away goes against the ‘one camera, one lens’ idea. I was checking to ensure it still worked properly since I was sending it to my brother, so I took it out on Saturday when Zoe and I went into Lowestoft town centre. I’d forgotten how … not great that camera’s EVF is – di…
